田辺の市街地からやや北。国道42号線をみなべ方面に進んでいきまして、運動公園のところを左に入っていきます。野球場を越えた奥にあるかんぽの宿です。お風呂は5階だったか、結構上の階にありますので眺めは抜群。 浴槽は内湯が主浴槽ともともとアイテムバスだったところが現在はバイブラとか停止して運用しています。41℃くらいで常時冷たい源泉が投入されています。うっすらとオーバーフローもあり。泉質はナトリウム－炭酸水素塩泉で31℃、13.55g/kgとなっています。浴槽内では41℃ほどに加温されて使われています。循環、消毒もあり。露天は眺めがいい小さな浴槽が1つ。寒い季節は風が痛いです。湯はつるつる感がしっかりとしていますし、塩気もあるなかなか上等なもの。塩素は弱めで快適でした。それほどパンチは強くないものの、十分に合格レベルの湯かと。アメニティは旅美人の馬油3点セットと資生堂の3点セットがあります。 白浜あたりとはまた違い、重曹が主成分となっています。湯質はまずまずですので肩の張らない観光旅行とかで行ってみるのもいいかなと。梅の季節なんかに暖をとる目的でもお勧めです。
