防長三名湯の1つである湯野温泉の高台に佇む、昭和34年開業の純和風旅館。5年ほど前に、日帰り入浴しました。鯉が泳ぐ池に架かる回廊を渡って、客室や浴室へと向かいます。徳山御影石を用いた大浴場では、中庭を眺められる内湯が1つ。無色透明の含弱放射能-ｱﾙｶﾘ性単純硫黄温泉を楽しめました。離れもあるので、泊まりでのんびり寛ぎたい宿です。

予約をして本館を利用いたしました。パンフレットなどに載っている庭園などがあるお部屋は離れのみだったようで、私たちが利用したお部屋は畳が波打っており、ふすまの取っ手が取れていました。掃除が行き届いていないのか、埃やくもの巣があって、大変驚きました。こだわっているらしいお食事を期待していたのですが、どれも冷たかったです。朝晩と利用した温泉の大浴場が貸しきり状態で広く使えました。
