上越国際スキー場帰りに寄ってみた。直江景継公ゆかりの地で裏は坂戸城のあった坂戸山ふもとにたたずむ宿。ホテル内には鎧や陣羽織が展示してあって思わず見入ってしまう。宿帳に名前を書いて千円支払いし、いざ出陣!ではなくお風呂に入りに行く。 19時半までは季節のかおり風呂とゆうのが女湯らしく1月は松の湯で一年間無事けがや病気がないようにといった意味らしい。露天ではなく小さな個室となる。 けっこう熱めで無色透明、かおりも特にしないけど良く暖まり湯冷めしない良いお湯でした。館内もとても綺麗だった。

六日町駅から徒歩１５分くらいで、途中の景色も非常に広々としている。温泉博士という雑誌で無料入浴させていただいた。（受付時に名前を記入する）まだチェックイン時間ではないのか、常に独占状態での入浴となった。源泉は7・12・13号井混合で、843mgの単純温泉。源泉温度は47.6℃と本格派。中ぐらい内湯とこじんまり和風露天などがある。露天は床は畳で湯口に小判が埋まっていたりして面白かった。風景は楽しめないものの、和な雰囲気は特に夜は素晴らしいだろう。湯は透明でピュアなツルツル感のある、非常にあっさりとした湯。湯にパンチを求める方は合わないかもしれないが、このあっさり感が肌に馴染んで心地よい湯だった。塩素臭はないように感じた。
