宿泊するときは、山小屋だと思って泊まってください。部屋も寝具も料理も期待できません。両側から山が迫っている渓谷に建つ宿なので、日のあたる時間も短いのでしょう。布団は少し湿気を感じます。

昼間は見学に来るだけの観光客がそれなりにおられます。ですから、そこで入るのはけっこう勇気が要ります。朝夕がおすすめです。川床から湧く湯は高温なので、川の水を適当に混ぜて適温にします。自分で掘らなくても、湯船はつくり置きのものがあります。それに入るだけでも野趣満点です。お湯は無色透明。夏、秋の観光シーズンはトロッコ電車が大変混み合うので、予約をして出かけるのが賢明です。
