Between Nara’s eastern side and Kyoto and Mie’s prefectural boundary lies a bountiful nature where you can enjoy Nara City’s Tsukigase’s 「Ume-no-sato Tsukigase Onsen」. In springtime, the beautiful view of Tsukigase with the plum trees lined up was chosen as the oldest designated site in Japan last 1992.
While viewing the scenery every season, it is a simple hot springs located between the mountains where you can slowly enjoy the observatory outdoor bath, indoor bath, sauna and food.
The new 「observatory bath」has opened.

名阪国道の五月橋インターから少し西に進み、ダム湖沿いをドライブします。途中、赤い橋があるのでそちらを渡って2kmほどのところ左手です。もともと村営の施設だったらしく、現在は合併で奈良市の施設になりました。建て替えをしたのか、かなりシックな外観です。 浴室は2つが男女交代制で、「梅の湯」と「茶の湯」でした。当日は茶の湯に入浴しました。 内湯は40℃の大浴槽。塩素は弱めで浴感なし。湯は専用口にオーバーフローして回収されていますので、ごみ類の滞留はなし。アメニティはPHOENIXの2点セットだったかと。サウナもあります。 露天は41℃の岩風呂と水風呂。そして1基だけですが源泉の壺湯があります。30℃くらいで、うっすらと濁りが認められます。源泉はタイマーで投入されているようで、換水率が悪いのかちょっとごみ類の抜けが悪かったのが残念。あと、こちらは新設になるのかもしれませんが、露天から階段を登ったところに展望露天風呂ができていました。42℃くらいで、立てば目隠し越しに茶畑が見えました。湯船で座っている状態では見えません。 泉質は単純泉で28.8℃、pH7.82、0.583g/kgとなっています。さっぱりした湯で、特徴は弱いかもしれません。夏場に壺湯を中心に楽しめれば満足度は上がりそう。まあもともと循環湯の湯使いもいいので、観光のついでの一浴にもお勧めできますが。

ネットで検索して、半日のドライブ＆入浴ということで京都市内より急遽出発しました。ナビに従ったので迷うことはありませんでした。ゴルフ場に近く山の中のノンビリした環境です。平日だったせいか客も少なく地元の老人客が大半だったように感じました。風呂数も少なく接客も地元客のためかサービス精神はいまいちだったように感じました。とりあえず風呂に！ということならば安くていいと思います。
